I met Mason through Instagram when I was scrolling through my feed & noticed his AMAZING landscape & nature photography which promotes environmental sustainability. After admiring so many of his images, I found out that he is from Bonnyville Alberta which is a town close to where I grew up. For some reason, when I see someone so talented & then realize that they came from the same area as myself, I get so proud! I think it’s that sense of community & a common thread when meeting someone who is also into photography, even though we focus on two totally different areas!

One day while looking at Air B & B’s for our upcoming trip to Hawaii, I decided to search my local hometown area just to see what kinds of places were for rent! I stumbled upon this GORGEOUS cozy treehouse & I was totally shocked that something this cool could be in my area. I had to double check where the location was because I totally thought something wasn’t right. After contacting the Colin the owner, he graciously agreed to let us come us the treehouse for an afternoon. He even gave us a tour of the property & offered us some locally brewed beer (how did Colin know that is the way to my heart?!). This place was all built by Colin & has a sauna, an outdoor shower, a fireplace in the treehouse, bathroom amenities, & is only about a 5 minute walk from the lake! This place is totally somewhere that my friends & I will be renting for a weekend away.

When I was editing this session all I could hear playing in my mind was Ray Lamontagne’s song ‘Hold You in My Arms’ so of course I had to include in this blog post.
