It is actually so difficult to even find the words to describe how grateful I am to have been a small part of Sara & Tyler’s journey – especially getting to help them out with their very special pregnancy announcement. I met Sara a couple years ago at a workout class & we got to know each other. After not seeing each other for a while, Sarah sent me a message asking to book a session with her husband & her beautiful Great Dane Lucy & we picked a date a couple of months down the road. What I didn’t know at the time was just how important this time in their life would be & how monumental this shoot would be for their story.

Sara sent me an email explaining how her & Tyler have been suffering through many years of infertility & infertility treatments. She described all of the ways that it has impacted their lives – physically, emotionally, mentally, and financially. Sara has been such a strong woman in sharing her personal story over the past couple years on her blog & Instagram. She shared with me how their recent embryo transfer was looking positive at that point. Sara told me that she knew that when she booked this photography session, that they would either have positive & hopeful news, or they would be yet again grieving. Although they may be grieving, she stated, she wanted to document this time in their lives as their “family as it is, kind of to remind ourselves that even without children, we are happy and loved”. Does that sentence not show you how freakin amazing of a couple they are?! I even had trouble finding the words to email back Sara & Tyler as I was so in awe of them & what they have been through.

We picked a beautiful fall evening & Sara & Tyler brought along some very important items to include in their shoot – including their announcement onesie which I was so pumped about! The sun truly blessed us with a gorgeous sunset & we hung out in the grass beside a creek & reflected on what they had been through the past few years.
