This past fall I decided to do a fall mini session in my home town of Elk Point, which is about a 2 hour drive from Edmonton. I typically try to do one of these near Elk Point once a year for all of my family & friends in the area. When Nikki & Ryan booked a slot I had no idea that they would be driving all the way from Edmonton to grab a spot! They had recently got engaged & decided that they would love to take a nice scenic drive out to my area & utilize the mini session as their engagement session!

During our shoot Nikki & Ryan had told me of their plans to get eloped in the Dominican & all of the adventures they had planned! I had mentioned to them how much I love not only destination elopements, but elopements in general because of the fact that the couple can personalize their day any way they want. I was so thrilled when Nikki & Ryan asked me to photograph their Dominican elopement, along with Sheena Rae Beauty tagging along to do Nikki’s hair & makeup!

Unfortunately, due to the pandemic that has spread across the world in the past few weeks/months, Nikki & Ryan had to make the unbearable decision of postponing their elopement for now… My heart truly hearts not only for Nikki & Ryan, but for all of the 2020 wedding couples who have put so much time, money & effort into planning their days. This is such a difficult time for anyone who had any type of event planned for this summer, and due to the ever changing policies & information we are all in a kind of limbo..

I think that in this difficult time it’s so important to just focus on our health, our family, our friends, and the love that we all share. We will all get through this together! I hope that you can enjoy these images & that they add a little brightness & happiness to your day!
