I am lucky to have Marwa & Stephen as friends and rural country neighbors right down the road, and even luckier that they asked me to be a part of their beautiful wedding day! This day was filled with so much love & emotion, and I feel so honored that I got to be there. Trust me when I say that the magic of weddings is never lost on me, they are always just so special in their own ways!

The day started off with Marwa & her family getting ready & enjoying some quiet time before the ceremony! Stephen was hanging out at his room at the Fairmont, and getting prepped and ready for the day (even prepping something extra special for Marwa & all of their guests).

Marwa + Stephen chose to do a private first look & we were treated to the most beautiful suite to do it in by one of their family members. Afterwards we went & did some more portraits of them & then headed to McDougall church for their ceremony. Stephen is a classically trained pianist & he and Marwa chose this church specially for it’s beautiful piano! After the ceremony was done, Stephen took to the stage to bless us all with a few songs that he had chosen to reflect their marriage. I don’t know if I’ve ever felt so emotional watching Marwa watch Stephen play, and then looking out at all of their guests with so much love in their hearts for them!

The reception took place at Dalla Tavola Zenari restaurant where we were treated to the most delicious Italian food & drinks! If you are in Edmonton & haven’t been, you have to go check it out! I know that I will be going back more than once to try everything on their menu!

As I head into the busy season of 2024, I am trying to focus a lot more on a documentary style of photography – capturing people & things how they are. I personally believe that when you see your wedding photos in entirety, it should give you a true feel of your day – not of the posed moments throughout the day.
