I’ve always known that bees are complicated and interesting little creatures but I was not aware JUST how complex they are! Lucky enough for me, I live down the road from Northern Lights Honey. They are a local Elk Point apiary which produces some of the most delicious honey I have ever tasted! Stephen is the son of a mother & father duo who started this business many years back, and now Stephen has mostly taken over form his parents & runs the business with the help & expertise!

I saw Stephen at a local craft show last winter where I bought some honey. Since bees have always been so interesting to me, I asked him if maybe one day I could tag along & he could show me everything that they do & Stephen was more than happy to show me around! I then had a wonderful idea of turning this tour into not only an opportunity for some business photos, but to also include his beautiful girlfriend Erin & turn it into a couples shoot! Tanner my boyfriend came along & Stephen told us a million facts about the beautiful little creatures and we were completely blown away by how smart they are. I now have a handful of bee facts that I will enthusiastically tell anyone who will listen – they are just so cool!!

It turned out to be an absolutely gorgeous evening visiting with Stephen & Erin & the bees, and we were blessed with a gorgeous warm sunset to end off the day in Elk Point.
