So as you might know, Hawaii is one of my all time favorite places that I have ever traveled to. Luckily for me, Tanner’s Auntie lives on the Big Island so I have been blessed to have now visited three times. When Aimee & Luca told us that they were getting married in Kona, Hawaii, a spot that their family has traveled to for many years, we were so incredibly thrilled for them! When Aimee asked if I would like to tag along and document thier Kailua-Kona Hawaii elopement, I almost fell of my chair. Shooting an elopement in one of my favorite places in the world, with some of my favorite people in the world, was nothing but complete magic.

After knowing Aimee & Luca for a few years and getting to do their engagement photos, meeting both sides of their family was so incredible. All of the family greeted Tanner and myself with open arms, and I really felt like part of the family for the few days we were with them. Getting to see the love between everyone, and the love that everyone had for little Max was so beautiful.

Aimee is originally from South Africa and now has family who live in Canada and in Australia. Aimee’s Aunt and her cousins traveled all the way to Kailua-Kona from Australia to be there on thier elopement day and it really showed just how close all of the family is, despite living world’s apart.

Aimee & Luca’s Kailua-Kona Hawaii elopement ceremony and reception took place at the most beautiful little coffee shop and restaurant right on the ocean called Daylight Mind Coffee Company. Their intimate ceremony was steps from the ocean and they were married by Luca’s sister who did a great job customizing the entire ceremony to fit Aimee & Luca! We then moved to the rooftop terrace and bar for their reception where they served a beautiful dinner (with poke of course) and the family professed their love for the new bride and groom through their speeches. Afterwards, dancing and singing the night away with everyone was a highlight of the day!
