What can I say about Ally & Josh – from the moment I first met them, I felt 100% comfortable around them & knew that this was not only going to be the beginning of some amazing photographs being created, but also the beginning of a friendship! I was so happy when they asked me to come & photograph their Saint Paul Alberta Acreage engagement session!
When asking Ally where she would like to meet for the initial wedding consultation, I had really wanted to suggest the local Lakeland Brewing Company here in St.Paul, but I was a little hesitant at first. After chatting back & forth, I finally suggested it & Ally was more than happy to agree! I mean, who doesn’t love having a beverage & talking about how you met your future husband?!
Ally & Josh live in the neatest & cutest little old house out on an acreage with a BEAUTIFUL yard and outbuildings. I’ve always been drawn to older houses as I find them so interesting & love to imagine all of the life that they have seen. With a galley kitchen & a beautiful old staircase in the middle of the house, Ally & Josh’s house really grabbed apiece of my heart. When I saw the huge old barn in their yard, I think I almost collapsed – talk about a photographers dream location! Josh showed me how the people who had lived there had used flattened out cans to patch holes in the sides of building. We had so much fun with this shoot & even shared another beer during the shoot (shh I wasn’t drinking on the job :P). I am so happy & honoured to be sharing an important part of their journey & I absolutely cannot wait for their big day next July! Thanks again Ally & josh!
Ps, I decided I wanted to add music to my blog posts because there is just something about looking at photos to music! Take a listen & let me know how it makes you feel!
