Every single time I leave Hawaii, especially Kailua-Kona, I always leave a piece of my heart there. I have been fortunate enough to travel to Hawaii 3 times now, and I can honestly say it is one of the most wonderful places in the world (or at least in my own travels). And this isn’t an uncommon feeling either, most people who I talk to who have been to Hawaii will say the exact same thing. From the warm air, to the salty sea breeze, there is not a place that I miss more.
On our last trip to Kailua Kona, I was lucky enough to connect with Tate & Dave of Sea the Light Imagery who are an amazing photography & videography duo. They are one of the most interesting couples that I have ever met who go on these amazing journeys together while having Hawaii as their home base. Their latest trip was to Norway where they somehow braved the freezing cold waters and went surfing! yes you heard that right, they SURFED IN ICE WATER! Surfing alone is hard but add some freezing cold water & you will not get me involved hahah.
This type of Hawaiian couple shoot is one that I’ve been dreaming of doing for years. We spent the evening on Mahai’ula Beach near Kailua-Kona & we were blessed with the most gorgeous of sunsets. The sun seemed to disappear in the matter of a few minutes while I got to witness just how much these two loved each other & felt 100% comfortable in each others arms.
If you are looking for a bomb ass couple to do your wedding photography & videography on the Big Island, or anywhere in the world check them out because they are one damn talented power couple!
