Kayla and Jordan had contacted me about shooting their Louise McKinney Park Elopement in Edmonton. They asked me if I shoot legal wedding ceremonies, and of course I said yes! These two planned to have their full wedding in Mexico, but wanted to capture their legal ceremony with two of their close friends in attendance. They couldn’t have picked a more beautiful day. The temperature was beautiful, greenery lush, and the lighting was absolutely perfect.
Louise McKinney Park offers a variety of different landscapes which made it easy to capture a variety of photos. This gallery features the park, water, and a breathtaking Ivy wall. Kayla and Jordan were so comfortable in front of the camera that their love for each other shines through their images with an effortless playfulness. I hope you’ll smile at these two in the way that I do every time I’ve looked at their images since!
I feel so privileged to get to photograph all weddings, big and small, but I find myself feeling the most privileged shooting intimate elopements and legal ceremonies because I get to be one of the few present witnesses. I’ve been fortunate to be asked to photograph these intimate weddings in places near and far, including Hawaii, Drumheller, and Abraham Lake. This Louise McKinney Park elopement was local, but no less stunning. You can check out other elopements below:
